Finding where the fish hide!

Before you attempt to catch fish, you need to find out where they are. Remember that fish are found nearly everywhere there is water with sufficient levels of food, oxygen, and cover. You are certain to be within a relatively close distance to a body of water that has fish living in it. For an angler, this is good news. They are there - now you have to find them!

Can You Gain Anything From Fishing, Besides A Tasty Meal?

There are many people who find that fishing is more than just a hobby.  It is a way of relaxing and enjoying what life really can give to you.  The feeling of being outdoors is nothing short of perfect after a long week at the office.  From kids to the elderly, fishing is just the perfect way for you to enjoy what nature has to offer.  Leave stress at home and come into the world of fishing at least just for a bit.

Think that fishing is boring?  If you picture fishing as a sport in which you’ll just spend your day on the side of the lake dozing, you can be wrong.  Although this is quite fine for some, most anglers are out there for the challenge.  Not only do you have to have skill to cast and get the fish to take hold, but you have to reel him in and land him too.  It can be quite a challenge.

Kayak Fishing

Kayak fishing is fishing from a kayak. The kayak has long been a means of transportation and a means of accessing fishing grounds. Kayak fishing has gained popularity in recent times. The most popular kayaks for fishing are rotationally molded from polyethylene due to their durability and lower cost. Generally, kayak fishermen look for stable and comfortable designs. The new generation of twin hull (catamaran) kayaks that was recently introduced into the market is stable enough to enable both paddling and fishing in the standing position. This technological development also solves some ergonomic problems that are associated with sitting for long hours without being able to change positions, and frees kayakers from the need to sacrifice speed to stability, which is another problem that characterizes monohull kayaks.

Noodling

Noodling is a southern US practice of fishing for catfish using only bare hands. Many other names, such as catfisting, grabbling, graveling, hogging, dogging, gurgling, tickling and stumping, are used in different regions for the same activity. Noodling is currently legal in eleven states.

The term "noodling", although today used primarily towards the capture of flathead catfish, can and has been applied to all hand fishing methods, regardless of the method or species of fish sought. Noodling as a term has also been applied to various unconventional methods of fishing, such as any which do not use bait, rod & reel, speargun, etc., but this usage is much less common
