How we may store and use information

Like many social websites, FishKeep uses personal information from its members to benefit the users experience  both by permitting you to establish communications with us and other users via e-mail, private messaging and discussions. Some of the information that you provide may be personally identifiable information including sensitive information (that is, information that can be uniquely identified with you, such as your full name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and so on). FishKeep has a default profile privacy set to allow members only to view your profile data. You can change this setting through your profile to be more strict or more open.

Any information posted by yourself in groups, walls etc. or communicated in discussion forums may become public information. While we strive to protect and respect your privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose in a post or group discussion.

When you access FishKeep services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

We may use cookies to assign your computer a User ID so that we can identify your computer on our server. This enables us to track your use of the Site and to learn about your preferences so that we can make our Site better. In most cases, you may configure your web browser to disable cookies. We do not use cookies to collect and store personal information about you.

FishKeep only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. In addition to the above, such purposes include:

Financial information we store

We do not store, or even ask for, any credit card information/bank details etc. We are a not profit organisation and any payments received ie. donations, would be dealt with via 3rd party (PayPal)

An important note about children

We do not and will not knowingly collect information from any unsupervised child under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you may not register with FishKeep or use any of our Services unless you have the consent of, and are supervised by, a parent or guardian.

We have added a new events feature to the site. Members can create and add events to the calender. These events could be anything from fishing competitions to nights out to birthdays to fishing outings. You can find it in the community under the applications menu.

If you have some fishy friends in your email contacts and would like to invite them along here to FishKeep, you can now use our powerful invite system to invite them all with just a few clicks. Its easy and any registered member can submit. It doesn't have to be a venue local to you either, it can be any from all over the country. Once the venue is in our database it can be reviewed and rated by our vistors.[/li]
